I am a very passionate and enthusiastic person about everything. And when it comes to food — I can go on for days. I was born at Noon and rumor has it my first full sentence was “What’s for lunch”. If you ask my co-workers — that is still my favorite question as I am always waiting for a yummy answer.
Food is very “gentle and soothing” to me. Get me talking about food and my eyes widen and twinkle, my mouth waters and I get chill bumps. I love the pomp and circumstance of researching & preparation through completion. I love a theme and a celebration. I love to experiment. We make homemade breads, pickles, vinegars, hot sauces. We grow a lot of our own veggies and herbs, HA, I even love scooping llama poop at Gingertop Farms for the compost pile.
When the garden is not in full swing and even when it is – I love Friday’s cause I get to customize “my box”. Then I have to wait patiently until Tuesday when “my box” is delivered to my front porch. (the delivery guys think I am crazy when I yell out the window “OH YAY, I have been waiting on my Beets”.
My box you ask? Salem Delights! They are a Piedmont Triad based fresh produce and local grocery home delivery service. Salem Delights’ mission is “to deliver the freshest produce and quality locally made goods to families across the Piedmont Triad.”
My box? It contains a variety fresh fruits, vegetables, Beets – Love Honey & Ginger, Homeland Dairy milk, Big Boss granola and Chris’ Habenero Pimento Cheese. I often venture out and explore the breads, other dairy, cheeses, jams, pickles, eggs, meal kits, beverages and grass fed beef. All locally grown, when in season and locally sourced.
As for convenience – it is “a complete absence of anything annoying or emotionally overwhelming”. Customize your box, finalize it by Noon on Sunday – it is delivered on Tuesday. Price?
